KAIST to hold wearable computer contest

The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced on April 3 that it would invite participants in the 2013 Wearable Computer Contest to be held in November 2013.

Wearable computer refers to the computer that can be attached to human bodies or clothes, allowing users to be connected with computing even when they are on the move. The 2013 WCC will be held under the theme of “Smart IT: Any-information for Anybody.” The participating teams have to present ideas on wearable computing that combines IT with fashion.

As many as 15 teams will be selected to join the final round of contest after passing through the documentation process. The final round teams will be given Samsung Electronics’ smart IT devices, plus 1.5 million won to finance the manufacturing of trial models.
