The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) and National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) said on Tuesday that approximately KRW 80 billion will be invested in 895 individual basic science research tasks in order to foster talent in the basic science sector. In the “early career researcher support” category, aimed to embolden young researchers,” 636 out of 3,469 research tasks were selected and about KRW 37.9 billion will be invested.
Two hundreds research tasks have been selected in the “key research support” category, designed to back mid-career researchers while 50 tasks were chosen in the “advanced research” category aimed to nurture career researchers into senior researchers. About KRW 500- 800 million will be ploughed into two tasks chosen in the “leading (senior) researcher” support category.
